Spider mites are common pests on many landscape plants including Dwarf Alberta Spruce and Burning Bush. Injury is caused as they feed and ingest the sap. Damaged areas are often marked with small, light flecks, giving the plant a somewhat speckled appearance. In severe infestations, leaves become discolored, with an unthrifty gray or bronze look to the plant. Leaves and needles may become scorched and drop prematurely causing stress and possibly even killing plants. The good news is that there are treatments to control this threat to your landscape planting. Ask us for more information.
